blogging with griff wigley

I woke up this morning and as I was preparing for the coaches association tele-calss with Griff Wigley, I began browsing the web. I came accross this picture and was struck with the beauty of my hometown of Minneapolis. The photo has special meaning to me because this was taken from the place where my husband and I celebrated our wedding reception with family & friends here in Mpls.

Now, back to what I was originally blogging about...I have a few highlights from the mca call with Griff:

1. WHY? You now have a Chronicle of what has happened week by week. As if you stick with it and start developing an audience - not just external feedback but interal feedback . It is an efficient way to communicate and influence.

2. HOW? Telling Stories is key-bare bones. Devote 20 minutes 2-3 times per week. It usually takes about 3-6 months before the following starts to happen. Leverage your media diet...all of what you read, see, etc...is blogging material for your opinion.

3. ADVANCED/TEACHING. See that by putting out a paragraph about a half baked unresolved thing to gather thoughts from others. Telling others to influence your opinion. Teaching can be good too, just be wary of getting into "lecture mode" with your audience. Answer your e-mails with a Blog post.

For those of you out there who like to learn from tele-classes and seminars: be sure to check out the MCA website for upcoming speakers and learning events - we have one meeting and one tele-class per month www.minnesotacoaches.org/index2.cfm
